One of the many joys of being a Rotarian is the exposure we have to different cultures from around the world. We support the community in many ways including providing volunteers for organizations our members are passionate about. Recently a few of us volunteered to support the Assam Association of Calgary with their Casino. To show their appreciation, they invited us to attend their Rongali Bihu Celebrations. This festival marks the beginning of the Assamese New Year and the beginning of the harvest season. The evening included traditional foods, dance and songs. |
