What a wonderful presentation from Katimavik. These young people shared their experiences in volunteering and living together while traveling and learning about themselves.
Katimavik is fully-immersive 6 month program that brings together young adults who share and manage a Katimavik house while living in two different communities. Volunteers spend 3 months in an English-speaking community and 3 months in a French-speaking community. The group is accompanied by a Project Leader, who resides in the house to mentor and facilitate the life-changing experience.
Katimavik is developing foundational learning curriculum that will become a core part of all programs going forward. This curriculum will produce informed, thoughtful, skilled women and men who can facilitate and lead reconciliation activities within their own communities.
